All applicants must remain POST license eligible until the proposed appointment on April 21, 2026.</div> <br /> <div class="greeting"> Applicant must: <ol> <li>Not have been convicted of a felony in Minnesota or in any other state or federal jurisdiction which would have been a felony if committed in Minnesota.</li> <li>Not have been convicted of theft or any other crime listed in Minnesota Rule 6700.0700.</li> <li>Be 21 years of age by April 21, 2026.</li> <li>Be a citizen of the United States by October 28, 2025.</li> <li>Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible to obtain one by September 3 or 4, 2025 (PT test date).</li> <li> The following must be met by April 21, 2026. <ul> <li>Possess a valid Minnesota peace officer's license; OR</li> <li>Be <a target="_blank" href="https://mn.gov/post/applicants/generalinformation/">POST license eligible</a>; OR</li> <li>Complete basic police training and be certified as a full-time peace officer in a state or with a federal law enforcement agency which has reciprocity with Minnesota and pass the <a target="_blank" href="https://mn.gov/post/applicants/generalinformation/#3">POST reciprocity examination</a>; OR</li> <li>Meet the <a target="_blank" href="https://mn.gov/post/applicants/generalinformation/#3">military reciprocity requirements</a> for POST standards and pass the POST reciprocity examination.
